My favorite summer getaway is to a little redwood cottage on the beach up north. We go there every year for a week. I take a ton of books and sit on the beach and do nothing but read. Heavenly

My favorite summer getaway has changed since I moved to Arizona. When I lived in Rhode Island, my favorite summer getaway was to drive up to the Cape for the weekend. It was always fun looking at shops and getting the glow of everyone having a good time and being away from the day-to-day work grind.
Now I am too far away to just drive off to the Cape. My husband and I now like to drive up to Flagstaff. It is very woodsy and pretty. There is always something fun to do.
