If you didn't happen to catch the premere of the new CW show "The Vampire Diaries", you really missed out!
I started watching the show as a skeptic, I thought it looked a little too much like "Twilight" and would probably not be a very good show. I actually really liked the show! I have a season pass all set up on my tivo now.
I haven't read the books, but after seeing the show am considering buying them. Vampire's are the essence of pop culture right now, but that isn't bound to last. Get your fix of the bloodsuckers now, before you've missed the curve.

Nooo! Don't read the books. (Or at the very least, don't buy them.) They are truly awful. I enjoyed the show as well, but only because they changed just about everything from the books. Save yourself those few hours... you can't get them back!

I enjoyed the show as well and am considering reading the books, but I'm not sure now after Jody's comment!
