I just finished reading this book for the second time and I love it even more this time around. It can be so refreshing to read something funny and light for a change! I spend so much time reading heavy and emotionally charged books, that it is a welcome change to laugh my way through a novel.
Its no secret that I am a Chelsea Handler fan. I love her late night show on E! "Chelsea Lately" for which she was dubbed "the sharpest toungue in late night". I have read both of her books multiple times and eagerly await her soon to be released third novel "Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang".
Chelsea Handler is brutally honest. She talks about things most people wouldn't even dare think about. For instance, she tells a story in this novel about the time she threw her back out spending an entire day pleasuring herself. Seriously. While shocking, the way she lays the stories out there are downright hilarious.
One of my personal favorites is the very first story. Chelsea is in grade school when her sister dares her to go into her parents room when the door is closed and take a picture. Chelsea barges in while her parents are in the middle of a role-playing session and snaps a picture before her father comes charging after her, totally naked and holding a belt. Chelsea does what any child would do and locks herself in the basement to avoid punishment. She thinks she has escaped punishment, but boy is she wrong.
This book is all about sex, absolutely not for the younger set. She talks candidly about her adventures with quite a few men, little nuggets included. If you want to laugh until your side aches, this book should be at the top of your TBR list!

I've been wanting to read this book ever since it came out. I think it sounds fabulous! I love memoirs, especially if they're a little edgy like this one. Also try I was told there'd be cake by Sloane Crossley.
She is ridiculously funny isn't she? I've had her other book on my To Read list for a while - but it is never available at the library when I go looking for it. I figure that is the sign of a good read!
I've heard great things about Chelsea Handler and have her book Are You There Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea to read. I'll have to look for this one as well!
