Rebecca's dying dad has just dropped a bombshell on her. She has a sister. A sister neither she nor her mother knew about. He gives her the key to his security box and tells her she'll know what to do. After he passes, she makes the decision to go meet Joy. But she didn't bargain for the fact that Joy wants nothing to do with or from Rebecca or her family. Add to that the fizzle of her relationship with her boyfriend/boss Michael. Things haven't been right for a long time, but his mom reminds her of her mom and he helps guide her. But now, she's ready to go to Maine to meet Joy, a colossal mistake according to Michael. Instantly, she meets and feels a connection with several people and finds that she's not in a hurry to return to her life in NYC.
I loved loved loved this book. The story was captivating, the narration fresh, the characters fun. I flew through it. The characters were relatable, and the subplot was just as interesting and segued well into the ending for Rebecca and Joy. I don't think you can go wrong with Melissa Senate

I absolutely loved this book as well, and "fresh" was the main word I used to describe it too!
I agree I loved it too! It was such a great read I will be looking for more from this author!
I've been seeing this book around, and the reviews have all made it seem appealing.
