One of my favorite authors' new book is out. I've been super stoked for House Rules since last year. Of course I picked it up on Tuesday and started last night after finishing up My Sister's Voice by Mary Carter (check for that blog tour in May!)
Synopsis: Jacob Hunt is a teenage boy with Asperger's Syndrome. he's hopeless at reading social cues or expressing himself well to others, and like many kids with AS, Jacob has a special focus on one subject- in his case, forensic analysis. He's always showing up at crime scenes, thanks to the police scanner he keeps in his room, and telling the cops what they need to do...and he's usually right. But then his town is rocked by a terrible murder and, for a change, the police come to Jacob with questions. All of the hallmark behaviors of Asperger's- not looking someone in they eye, stimulatory pics and twitches, flat affect- can look a lot like guilt to law enforcement personnel. Suddenly, Jacob and his family, who only want to fit in, feel the spotlight shining directly on them. For his mother, Emma, it's a brutal reminder of the intolerance and misunderstanding that always threatens her family. For his brother, Theo, it's another indication of why nothing is normal because of Jacob. And over this small family the soul-searing question loo,s: Did Jacob commit murder?
I'm looking forward to this one way more than her last which wasn't one of my favorites of hers. I'm on page 75 and I'm trying hard not to read the ending and find out who the culprit is already.

You want to cheat and go to the ending already, funny :-)
Happy Reading
Only to find out who did it. I realize it sounded like I just wanted to be done with the book. Picoult is known for the dramatic shocker or twist, and I have 400 pages to go!
An award for you: http://mindingspot.blogspot.com/2010/03/sugar-doll-award.html
Ooh, I have an ARC of this that I'll be reading SOON! Hope we both enjoy it and I'll be looking forward to your review!
I'm so jealous of your ARC! I tore through 200 pages this morning!
