The synopsis: Clementine Lord is not an orphan. She just feels like one sometimes. One of triplets, a quirk of nature left her the odd one out. My thoughts: This was a harder book for me to love right away but one that was so interesting that even though I found the characters more than a little unlikeable, I wasn't ready to give up the story.  There was a lot to tell in this novel and Gross really nailed weaving a story that transfixed and overcame a cast of characters that garnered no sympathy or feelings of endearment.
