I also felt bad for Katie. I know you said you didn't. But after thinking about it after I finished the book I really did feel bad for her because of her relationship with her dad and she only had one friend. Maybe I connected with her about the older guys because I always dated older guys growing up. I wasn't immature like her, I was just always "older" than my friends. I wanted to stay home while they were out on the town. I didn't go to parties growing up and such. And actually had my youngest son when I was 18 and my other one when I was 21. I am still with their father- Who is 10 years older than me-so I guess Katie's actions really couldn't be called for since my outcome was a lot better than hers. But I still did feel sorry for her!
Great review though. I like that you backed up why you didn't like it.

Undiscovered gyrl sends a message of uplifting tru...

Undiscovered gyrl sends a message of uplifting truth mixed with disturbing reality to youth and readers of all ages alike. Katie's character breeds an air of mystery alongside deeply disturbed teenage angst, a message of truth not commonly found in the typical and most despised happily ever after novel.

Reading the book, which I did in apporximately three elliptical sessions, caught me off gaurd at every turn of the page and kept me captivated until the surprise ending. Yes, I admit that i did want to know what happened to Katie, but was pleasantly satiatied in knowing that i had no idea and never would know what became of the girl undiscovered. Instead of a happy ending with Katie coming home and running into her mother's arms, the novel ends the way that it should. Nobody will know the mystery behind the mysterious teenager, a harsh yet true reality (that is unless Allison goes for round two...)

Overall, Undiscovered Gyrl sends a message of hope to those who are tired of buying into the fantasy world presented in most novels and movies and provides readers with a deep and intricate look at what the life of a real 18 year old girl could be.

Katie Kampenfelt is a hero in every sense of the w...

Katie Kampenfelt is a hero in every sense of the word - - I read the book in four hours - - I just couldn't put it down - - and I loved everything about Katie. And her friends. And her boyfriends. I've never read a book where I literally laughed and cried at the same time. Yes, Katie is a tortured young girl - - but you'll really identify with her and you won't stop laughing - - and crying. As for the end, it's still with me (and I don't want to give it away either). Anyhow, we're having a Katie Kampenfelt Night when the book comes out and dressing like out favorite characters. I'm definitely going to be Katie.
